The 4 hardest words for a writer to say

Ready for a challenge? Don't be intimidated — I'm confident you can do this! Please take a deep breath and say out loud, “I am a writer.” Believe me when I tell you that there is power in these words –– no matter who hears them or where they are said. Now it's your turn to proclaim it proudly: "I am a writer."

Did you say it confidently and with conviction? Did the words come out of your mouth effortlessly or did they struggle to make their way onto your lips? Did you bellow them loudly, or quietly murmur them while still doubting yourself?

If that exercise was a challenge for you, don't feel discouraged; it is not uncommon. Many individuals long to become authors.

Developing the right mindset of an author takes time, and often requires advice from those who have already taken that path. It matters greatly because when you authentically believe in yourself as a writer and accept this identity, then finishing your books becomes much easier.
