Overcome these common writing obstacles

There are a lot of reasons people dream of writing a book “someday” but never take the steps to bring that dream into reality. And that’s a shame because it means there are a lot of important stories that aren’t being told.

I’ve worked with thousands of aspiring writers over the years, and I’ve noticed a few common obstacles that pop up again and again (for nearly every new writer!).

The first obstacle is fear. Fear of failure, fear of criticism, and even fear of success can stop writers from ever beginning their manuscript. It’s a scary thing taking that first step into the unknown – but it’s also one of the most important steps you can take as a writer!

The second obstacle is lack of time. Writing can be a long and arduous process, especially when you’re first starting out. It takes dedication and hard work to put in the hours needed to write a great book – but it’s worth it!

The third obstacle is procrastination. Writers often get stuck in “analysis paralysis”, spending too much time researching and not enough time actually writing.

But here’s the thing: no matter what obstacles you face as a writer, there are ways to overcome them and achieve your dream of writing a book. All it takes is dedication and perseverance!

Start small. Set daily or weekly goals for yourself and work your way up to bigger ones. Get help if you need it – join a writing group or hire an editor or mentor. And most importantly, don’t give up! Writing a book is hard work but it can be one of the most rewarding experiences in life – so go for it!
